Custom Workwear: From Your Brief to Bulk Production

Workwear Solutions · · 2 min read

A sample, a technical pack or an initial idea can all start a workwear project. What matters next is turning that starting point into a clear specification and an approved production sample.

Choose your starting point

Workwear Solutions manufactures made-to-order workwear in China for brands, distributors and company uniform buyers. We support both OEM and ODM development. The right route depends on how much of the garment is already defined.

OEM

You have a sample or technical pack

Share the design, measurements, material requirements and construction details. A reference sample helps explain the intended result; a technical pack records it in a form that can be checked during development.

ODM

You have requirements to develop

Start with the working environment, garment type, fit and brand requirements. Reference images can help explain the direction. We then discuss the design, materials and sample development needed for your project.

Neither route removes the need to approve the details. A photograph alone does not define fabric weight, a complete size range or every construction feature.

Agree the specification before production

A useful brief connects the garment to the order. Include the intended use, quantity per style and color, size breakdown and destination. Then identify which details are fixed and which need development.

  • Materials: fabric composition and weight, color references, lining and trims.
  • Fit: garment measurements, measurement method, sizes and fit expectations.
  • Construction: pockets, closures, adjustment features and reinforcement requirements.
  • Branding and packing: logo artwork, placement, labels and packing instructions.

If the intended use calls for protective performance, raise that requirement at the start so the applicable specification and supporting evidence can be discussed. Appearance or a reference image is not proof of protective performance.

Use the sample as a decision point

Review the sample for fit, material, color, pocket access, closures and workmanship. Record requested changes against the same specification rather than relying on separate messages or photographs with no revision reference.

Before approving bulk production, confirm which sample and specification revision are approved. Any remaining changes should be resolved in writing, including whether another sample is needed.

For a practical checklist, read our sample approval guide.

Plan the bulk order around agreed requirements

Once the specification and sample are agreed, confirm the order quantity, inspection expectations, packing and shipment terms. Minimum order quantity, price, sample arrangements and production lead time depend on the garment and order requirements; they are confirmed for the project.
